This classic story is an absolute favourite of ours! We are lucky in Australia as we can incorporate it into our planning both at Christmas time and during the Winter. Not only do we love this book, but the animation is just beautiful. Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

 Art Prompt ~ Loose Parts Snowmen

We have had fun with two styles of loose parts snowmen prompts – a 2D and a 3D version. For the 2D option, simply draw a snowman outline on a piece of paper, or in our case a hessian mat. Then provide a variety of materials, such as twigs, buttons, felt and mini carrots to add character to your snowman! The 3D option is a great fine motor activity for little fingers. You’ll need polystyrene balls and a selection of items suitable to poke into the balls.
